- You’ll be trained in-house to become an Aeronautical Station Operator (ASO), and we’re specifically looking for a candidate with the potential and ambition to progress to the role of Flight Information Service Officer (FISO) following the introduction of IFR operations, via the training programme at Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL).

As an Airport Services Officer, you and your colleagues are responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and hospitable airport operations. Under the supervision of the Airport Manager, you will ensure that all primary operational processes on the airside run safely and professionally. You will maintain a visible presence on the airport grounds and act as a key link between pilots, companies, emergency services and other airport users.
What will you be doing?
- Maintaining order and safety on the airport premises.
- Carrying out daily runway, site and fuel inspections.
- Supervising work on the airside.
- Assisting aircraft during arrival, departure and ground handling.
- Providing airport information to pilots and users.
- Handling radio communications as an ASO and, later, potentially as a FISO (following training).
- Recording data and operational information in the airport information system.
- Scaring away birds and wildlife to ensure flight safety.
- Coordinating and providing support during incidents, emergencies and special operations.
- Collecting airport charges and carrying out administrative tasks.
You are not only responsible for safe airport operations, but also act as the face of Twente Airport.
Who are you?
You are someone who takes responsibility, always puts safety first and thrives in a dynamic working environment. You are service-oriented, a strong communicator and remain calm and professional even during busy periods.
In addition, you have:
- At least MBO 4 level of working and thinking.
- An affinity with aviation.
- A strong sense of responsibility and an eye for safety.
- A Category B driving licence.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- Good digital skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work a rota including evening, weekend and public holiday shifts.
- A home address within approximately 40 kilometres of Twente Airport or a willingness to relocate.
It would also be an advantage if you have:
- An ASO, FISO or ATCO qualification and/or a (private) Pilot Licence.
- An emergency response certificate.
- A Small Aviation Firefighting certificate.

- A gross monthly salary of between €3,012 and €3,897 (based on a 38-hour working week), depending on your knowledge and experience.
- Irregular hours allowance (ORT) for evening, weekend and public holiday shifts.
- 8% holiday pay.

About the team
The Airport Authority consists of an enthusiastic team of eight colleagues led by the Operations Manager. We work closely together, know each other well and liaise quickly with the management, companies at the airport and our external partners.
