During Wheels & Wings, these children can be pilots for a day by flying as Hoogvlieger pilots over Twente. Back on the ground, they can enjoy a range of activities during this dream day, including a car show featuring exclusive cars and an aerobatic display by the Fokker Four formation.
All this is made financially possible by funds raised through the Wheels & Wings rally, a charity tour that takes place on the same day, starting from Twente Airport. This year marks the rally’s fifth anniversary and promises to be an extra special edition, in which road cyclists and mountain bikers can also take part.

The charity
During Wheels & Wings at Twente Airport, the Hoogvliegers Foundation gives sick or disabled children a special and unforgettable adventure: a day as a pilot! Since 2007, more than 12,000 children have flown from various airports across the Netherlands. The Hoogvliegers Foundation receives no subsidies and is entirely dependent on donations. That is why we are raising money for this charity through the Wheels & Wings rally, so that as many children as possible can become Hoogvliegers!
